“If Reiki can be spread throughout the world it will touch the human heart and the morals of society. It will be helpful to many people, not only healing the disease, but the Earth as a whole.” – Memorial for Dr Mikao Usui

Steven Henderson

Reiki Master Teacher

Steven first became interested in Reiki in 1998. He was searching for how to connect with spiritual energy and people, recalling memories and feelings from staying at a spiritual retreat centre as a young adult where he felt wholeness, connection and purpose. Over many years studying and learning different modalities he was drawn to Reiki partly due to its simplicity, the use of symbols and the ability to use Reiki in conjunction with other modalities. Steven completed his certification as a Reiki Master/Teacher in 1999.

Like Joan, Steven too continued his studies to gain a deeper understanding of Reiki principals in the Japanese system and completed Shinpiden level III Usui Shiki Ryoho training in 2011.

Practicing and teaching Reiki over 20 years Steven has worked with many people from different walks of life. Using experiences and learnings, his main focus is to assist people to find their own connection, their own inner wisdom, or their own intuition through Reiki. This connection encourages personal growth, awareness, and spiritual growth.

Steven has been a member of the Australian Reiki Connection (Australia’s leading Reiki association) since 2003 and follows their guide lines to offer courses and classes.

Joan Miller

Reiki Master Teacher

Joan Miller began her Reiki journey in 1998.

As a hairdresser Joan found her energy levels quite depleted at times with certain clients and wasn’t really sure why! So when she heard about energy healing work and how to protect yourself from others, she became interested.

Having studied Martial arts Joan was familiar with sensing certain aspects of the energy field but Reiki was a totally different story.

Steve her husband was already a firm believer of the effects of Reiki and with his encouragement Joan decided to learn how to channel this life force energy for herself. Joan was initially trained in the Tibetan Usui System and in 2003 she became a Certified Tibetan Usui Master/Teacher.

In 2011 Joan continued her studies to gain a deeper understanding of Reiki principals in the Japanese system and completed Shinpiden level III Usui Shiki Ryoho training.

As Joan started practicing on other people, building up Reiki skills, her understanding and love of this subtle energy was growing. Steven and Joan started working and teaching together. Her favourite part was being able to work on people and their pets, generally Steven would work on the person, and in a different room I would work on the pet. These sessions where really special and still amaze me, together we would discuss the session and the correlation between the pet and owner left us in awe. We also were able to offer house clearing which was an amazing way to share Reiki to help the whole family.

Becoming a Reiki Teacher and sharing Reiki with others has inspired Joan to go much further. Reiki today is part of her daily life, acknowledging the infinite wisdom of the Universal Life Force in everything. Joan uses the sacred traditional reiki symbols daily and she finds the Tibetan symbols so useful in different ways, using them many times a day to help with feelings and emotions and to help her reconnect and ground herself.

Joan’s teaching style is to empower each individual, to use these teaching’s to support their own journey, so that they will be able to recognise their own strengths and to learn help themselves, and also to be able to share reiki with others.

Joan has been a member of the Australian Reiki Connection (Australia’s leading Reiki association) since 2003 and follows their guide lines to offer courses and classes. Joan is also a Yoga teacher Trainer and practicing Yoga Therapist.
